8th.\u00a0 That’s a long five months. Today is not going to be a new full blahg.\u00a0 I just wanted to let you know I am still here.\u00a0 You might have gotten a virus notification about this website but I’ve fixed that and I’ll thank those of you who ignored the warning and continued on to read this blahg.\u00a0 All warnings will eventually disappear.\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Some bad things have happened over the past few months.\u00a0 Our kitten, Willow, died on Father’s Day.\u00a0 Technically she had a stroke and we had to have her put down.\u00a0 It was a bad weekend because we had learned on the Friday that she had the same disease that killed our last kitten, Stella.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Little Willow (aka Super Faster Hair)<\/p><\/div>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We were told the odds of that happening to two kittens in the same house within a one year period were astronomical.\u00a0 Still didn’t make us feel better about it.\u00a0 We were all devastated.\u00a0 Instead of showing a more recent picture of Willow, the one on the left was taken by the staff at the Peterborough Humane Society before we adopted her.\u00a0 They graciously emailed me the photo.\u00a0 We have a new kitten but I won’t talk about her yet.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Roni Summer Wickens<\/p><\/div>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The other sad news was that my friend and colleague Roni Summers Wickens passed away earlier this summer.\u00a0 She fought a brave fight with cancer but sadly lost the battle.\u00a0 I used to be her boss and then she was my boss.\u00a0 Long story, but throughout it, no matter who was the boss, we were friends.\u00a0 We lost sight of that over the last few years but I did get to see her last year when she was in better health and there was still some camaraderie between us.\u00a0 The photo here is not one of my own but it reminds me well of Roni in better times.\u00a0 She is missed.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 That’s all I will post here for today.\u00a0 Sad news upon sad news is bad enough.\u00a0 I will close this short blahg with a song from Jimmy Durante.\u00a0 He really is a great singer of ballads and I really like this song from the movie, “Lili”.\u00a0 He did not sing the song in the movie but it’s a very moving version.\u00a0 Very emotional but the essence is that after all, you are still here.\u00a0 I am still here.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/images\/willow0.jpg\")
