{"id":4233,"date":"2021-04-15T20:18:27","date_gmt":"2021-04-15T14:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/?p=4233"},"modified":"2021-07-22T01:07:15","modified_gmt":"2021-07-21T19:07:15","slug":"12-months-12-more-records-12-more-songs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/?p=4233","title":{"rendered":"12 MONTHS &#8211; 12 MORE RECORDS &#8211; 12 MORE SONGS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Well it&#8217;s April and we&#8217;re in another lockdown\/stay at home situation here in Ontario.<a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/newpic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4164 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/newpic.jpg\" alt=\"A New Picture of Scott\" width=\"221\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a> I&#8217;m not complaining.\u00a0 Covid-19 cases are on the rise again and we need to do this to bring the case numbers down.\u00a0 What a perfect time to enjoy some more music that I&#8217;ve collected over the past year.\u00a0 In my previous blahg,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/?p=4189\">12 MONTHS \u2013 12 RECORDS \u2013 12 SONGS<\/a>, I offered up samples from some albums I had purchased over the past 12 months either at local thrift stores or purchased over the Internet.\u00a0 I&#8217;m talking about LPs.\u00a0 Vinyl!\u00a0 The good stuff!\u00a0 I have another batch of 12 albums that I purchased over the past month so I&#8217;m basically doing a part two with these new to me albums.\u00a0 Sit back and enjoy some good music<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As I&#8217;ve said before, many of these records have not had CD releases so they&#8217;re a bit on the rare side. I&#8217;ve done another good job of scanning the covers so if you click on the rear covers then you get full images with all of the great jacket notes.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve tried to clean the audio and remove any clicks and crackle sounds.\u00a0 I think you might just find something interesting this time around.\u00a0 Wait, I didn&#8217;t mean the last batch of 12 records were not any good but I&#8217;m just saying I&#8217;m continuing with the vinyl and there&#8217;s bound to be something here that&#8217;s enjoyable.\u00a0 There was only one album in the batch that wasn&#8217;t as good as the rest.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll have to read on to find out more.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; &#8221; by the same group.\u00a0 This time the album is &#8220;<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">Live At Ronnie&#8217;s, Album 2, Rue Chaptal&#8221; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The next album is probably my most recent purchase before stores shut down again this spring due to the pandemic.\u00a0 I had never heard of Bernadine Read but the first track that caught my eye was &#8220;Rhode Island Is Famous For You.&#8221;\u00a0 I knew this song from the late great Blossom Dearie but did not know anyone else had recorded a version.\u00a0 The album is &#8220;Bernadine&#8221; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0 The selections up to now in this blahg were thrift store purchases but I confess that the next album was ordered after I downloaded and listened to the second album by this group.\u00a0 I read online somewhere about a jazz album with a very interesting cover, &#8220;Music To Lure Pigeons By&#8221; by the Night Pastor And Seven Friends.\u00a0 Luckily someone had posted the whole album on Youtube:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/i7qVXs9Y11E\" width=\"450\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">I think I came across it because I was researching Dave Remmington.\u00a0 In my previous blahg I had offered a selection from &#8220;Dixie On The Rocks&#8221; by Shelly Manne &amp; His Friends.\u00a0 To be clear, the friends consist of Andre Previn on piano, Leroy Vinnegar on bass, and of course Shelly Manne on drums.\u00a0 Shelly Manne and friends also put out albums of music from &#8220;L&#8217;<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt;
