line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0 The only real accomplishment this past month is that I&#8217;ve started editing my first novel &#8220;False Ducks&#8221; is an unpublished piece of work&#8230;but it&#8217;s funny.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0 When I started avoiding topics for this blahg, not once was I inspired by a previous blahg other than those movie reviews, <a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/?p=6263\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HAVE YOU WATCHED ANY GOOD MOVIES LATELY?<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/?p=6279\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCOTT, YOUR CORDIAL MOVIE REVIEWER<\/a>, which I mean to get back to.\u00a0 No, it wasn&#8217;t until last night that I finally found some true inspirations and it hearkens back to my very first blahg, <a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/?p=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">THE BLAHG &amp; THE MOST HAPPY SOUND<\/a> which I published in November of 2011.\u00a0 It was an introduction to my new blahg and a write up on the band, &#8220;Margaret Ann &amp; the Ja-Da Quartet&#8221; and their one and only full length LP.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what the cover looks like:\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/images\/jadafront.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/images\/jadafront.jpg\" alt=\"Margaret Ann &amp; The Ja-Da Quartet\" width=\"432\" height=\"432\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">Here&#8217;s what I said about this group in my first blahg:\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>The group consists of Margaret Ann Peterson, her brother Jim on tenor Banjo, Gordon Ellinger on drums, and Don Royer on piano.<\/strong> <strong> Margaret was the youngest at 19 and the oldest was Gordon at 23.<\/strong> <strong> They all hailed from Greeley, Colorado, did some shows in Florida and New York and eventually appeared on Arthur Godfrey\u2019s Talent Scout program.<\/strong> <strong> They also appeared on the Pat Boone Chevy Showroom (April 16, 1959), the Perry Como TV Show (February 21, 1959 &amp; March 9, 1960) and the Garry Moore Show (April 7, 1959).<\/strong> <strong> I have yet to find any video of them when they were still the Ja-Da Quartet but\u2026ah I\u2019m getting ahead of myself.<\/strong> <\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><strong>As I listened closely I immediately recognized the voice of Margaret Ann!<\/strong> <strong> If you\u2019re a fan of the Andy Griffith Show then you will recognize Margaret Ann playing the character of Charlene Darling, the golden voice of that mountain clan The Darlings.<\/strong> <strong> Only then, she was being billed as Maggie Peterson.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">Last night Margaret Ann Peterson became my inspiration for this blahg.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0 Let me explain a minute, how I got here.\u00a0 I have always been a fan of the aforementioned &#8220;Andy Griffith Show.&#8221;\u00a0 There was a spin-off series called &#8220;Mayberry R.F.D.&#8221; that had a single season release in 2018:\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/m.media-amazon.com\/images\/I\/51xHgsIt9JL._AC_SY445_.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/m.media-amazon.com\/images\/I\/51xHgsIt9JL._AC_SY445_.jpg\" alt=\"Mayberry R.F.D. 1st Season\" width=\"313\" height=\"445\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">I had, for several years since that release lamented the fact that the other seasons had not been released.\u00a0 Last month I discovered that a Complete Series set was issued in June of last year:\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/m.media-amazon.com\/images\/I\/71mqNROsgcL._AC_SL1500_.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/m.media-amazon.com\/images\/I\/71mqNROsgcL._AC_SL1500_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"361\" height=\"497\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">It&#8217;s a great series featuring support cast members like Aunt Bea, Goober Pyle, Howard Sprague, and Emmett Clark from the original &#8220;Andy Griffith Show&#8221; series along with Ken Berry as Sam Jones who holds it all together.\u00a0 Andy Griffith also makes a couple of appearances.\u00a0 It&#8217;s nice to see these characters continuing in some wholesome stories.\u00a0 Well, now I&#8217;m in the third season and there was an episode last night where Margaret Ann Peterson guest-starred as &#8220;Edna&#8221; who worked at the diner.\u00a0 I was happy to see her again in Mayberry and I immediately had to look her up and see what she&#8217;s been up to.\u00a0 Sad news, she died in 2022.\u00a0 I had started my blahg series wih Margaret Ann and I felt I had to come back to her.\u00a0 This blahg will be a bit of a tribute to her.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0\u00a0 Let&#8217;s start with the music.\u00a0 In fact, I think I just want to focus on her music.\u00a0 She didn&#8217;t do much acting but her singing on &#8220;The Most Happy Sound&#8221; and as Charlene Darling on &#8220;The Andy Griffith Show&#8221; was exceptional.\u00a0 In my first blahg, I posted a couple of YouTube videos which were songs from the album.\u00a0 When I reviewed that blahg, I noticed the YouTube links are no longer active.\u00a0 The two songs were &#8220;CRAZY WORDS&#8221; Well, there wasn\u2019t another album but I have discovered that there were two 45 singles.<\/strong> <strong> The first, also on the Warner Bros label, like the LP, is #5064 with two songs: \u201cDUDLEY, DIGBY DARLING\u201d &amp; \u201cTHE GIRL THAT JOHNNY WALKED HOME.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><strong>The second single is Warner Bros #5124.<\/strong> <strong> It contained SECRET (Everybody\u2019s Talking)\u201d &amp; \u201cBILL BAILEY, WON\u2019T YOU PLEASE COME HOME\u201d.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">The links I posted for \u201cDUDLEY, DIGBY DARLING\u201d &amp; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif'; font-size: 15pt;\">I finally received the 45 of &#8220;Secret&#8221; backed with &#8220;Bill Bailey, Won&#8217;t You Please Come Home.&#8221;\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/images\/bailey.jpg\" alt=\"Secret\/Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home 45 rpm\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"10\" \/><strong><strong><strong><em><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif'; font-size: 15pt;\">It&#8217;s taken this long for me to actually record it to my computer and post it here.\u00a0 Although &#8220;Secret&#8221;, which I reviewed here before, sounds like a <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><strong><strong><strong><em><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif'; font-size: 15pt;\">late 50s\/early 60s vocal group, the flip side is completely different.\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><strong><strong><strong><em><span style=\"line-height: 150%; I did find a Discogs listing for a single released on the Lou-Jay Records label for Margaret Ann in 1963.
