line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">This batch of stories are full of the Morrison humour and some of that borders on the dark side.\u00a0 One of the stories also appears to be out of place.\u00a0 As a reminder, I started reading in alphabetical order before switching to chronological order.\u00a0 The very last published William Morrison short science fiction story was &#8220;A Feast of Demons&#8221; published in Galaxy magazine in March of 1958 but I read that earlier on.\u00a0 The final 10 were published, as you can see, from October 1954 to December 1957.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s get into it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0 \u00a0#10)\u00a0 <em>Unwelcomed Visitor<\/em>, If, October 1954.\u00a0 This is a fun story.\u00a0 An alien comes to Earth and no one pays him any attention.\u00a0 He eventually learns that with books, radio, television, and movies, the citizens of Earth have seen it all when it comes to stories of visitors from outer-space so when it finally happens, no one is surprised!\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/unwelcomedvisitor.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7169 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/unwelcomedvisitor.jpg\" alt=\"Unwelcomed Visitor\" width=\"484\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/unwelcomedvisitor.jpg 484w, http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/unwelcomedvisitor-300x192.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 484px) 100vw, 484px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">\u00a0 \u00a07) <em>The Hollywood Habit, <\/em>Fantastic Universe, April 1955.\u00a0 This was a very short story, running about five and half pages.\u00a0 Yes there&#8217;s humour but there&#8217;s a tinge of darkness to this one.\u00a0 A Hollywood actor keeps going through wives until someone discovers maybe each wife is not different but a variation of the first wife.\u00a0 What happens when the newest wife catches on?\u00a0 What&#8217;s her revenge?\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/hollywoodhabit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7179 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/hollywoodhabit.jpg\" alt=\"The Hollywood Habit\" width=\"289\" height=\"528\" srcset=\"http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/hollywoodhabit.jpg 289w, http:\/\/falseducks.com\/theblahg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/hollywoodhabit-164x300.jpg 164w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\">That&#8217;s it.\u00a0 I have read all 79 short science fiction stories by William Morrison.\u00a0 It&#8217;s sad that very few people have heard of him.\u00a0 He wrote some very good short stories.\u00a0 I think my favourites from this last batch were &#8220;Unwelcomed Visitor&#8221; and &#8220;The Ardent Soul.&#8221;\u00a0 Both had the Morrison sense of humour.\u00a0 So, what&#8217;s next?\u00a0 There are a couple of longer stories that he wrote under the name Brett Starling, <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold','sans-serif';\"><strong>\u201cWorlds To Come\u201d in \u201cCaptain Future, Spring, 1943,\u201d and \u201cDays of Creation\u201d in \u201cCaptain Future, Spring, 1944.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><em>&#8220;World To Come&#8221;\u00a0 <\/em>is listed as &#8220;A Complete Book-Length Scientifiction Novel&#8221;
