\"New<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0 Tell me something I don’t already know.\u00a0 This is going to be a short blahg to update you on how sick I am.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0I guess I should start this off as another one of my “cautionary tales”\u00a0 I’ve reported a few of those.\u00a0 Let me see, there was May of 2021 when the side effects of a Covid vaccine laid me out.\u00a0 ASTRAZENECA VACCINE, MY CAUTIONARY TALE<\/a> was the blahg I wrote about it.\u00a0 That was a tough one.\u00a0 Then there was the time I first got Covid in December 2023.\u00a0 You can read about that in\u00a0“THE CHRISTMAS MAYONNAISE”<\/a>.\u00a0 Oh, and there was that time I fell out of my bathtub, just last year, and thought I had broken my neck.\u00a0 Don’t let the title of that blahg fool you:\u00a0 ANOTHER ROUND OF HOLIDAYS!<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0I’ll start with the short explanation this time around.\u00a0 I got Covid…again.\u00a0 I had been feeling fine health wise but on the morning of Friday June 5th, I woke up with an extremely sore throat and ears.\u00a0 It wasn’t better by noon so I went to the Picton hospital.\u00a0 They were very good and quick and the Doctor I saw took a throat swab.\u00a0 He came back to say that the good news was that I didn’t have strep-throat but the bad news was I had Covid.\u00a0 I wonder if Strep might have been better.\u00a0 He said to take Tylenol and tough it out.\u00a0 I was sick\u00a0 through to June 10th but felt well enough to go back to work on the 11th.\u00a0 Bad idea.\u00a0 I relapsed on the 12th and felt progressively worse.\u00a0 I was tired.\u00a0 I had no energy.\u00a0 I was coughing up mucus and phlegm (aren’t they the same?).\u00a0 It was the nastiest green stuff you ever saw.\u00a0 Nice picture hunh?\u00a0 Overnight from the 13th to the 14th I was up most of the night hacking and coughing.\u00a0 Oh yeah, it hurt when I urinated.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0When I woke up again mid-morning on June 14th, I requested my wife to drive me to the hospital again.\u00a0 I had nothing left in me to fight this infection.\u00a0 So, it was back to the hospital in Picton again.\u00a0 I had another great on call Doctor and he tested my urine and they did a chest X-ray.\u00a0 Yep, I was sick.\u00a0 I now had a slight case of pneumonia and I had thickened urine.\u00a0 I guess that’s a thing.\u00a0 That’s why it hurt when I had to urinate.\u00a0 One hour and forty-five minutes in the ER and I came away with a prescription for an antibiotic.\u00a0 First dose was a double dose and last night I slept for twelve hours and only got up to urinate once…compared to the dozen times the night before.\u00a0 This morning, June 15th, I’m feeling better and I can urinate again without pain.\u00a0 Thank you, medical science.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0That’s my short tale for this time around.\u00a0 No photos and no music.\u00a0 I had heard there was a new Covid vaccine out but decided not to get it.\u00a0 I thought I’d probably built up immunity.\u00a0 If you’re like me, smack yourself in the head and go get the vaccine.\u00a0 Covid is still a thing and then it morphs into another thing.\u00a0 For me, it was pneumonia.\u00a0 Cautionary tale or advice.\u00a0 Your choice.\u00a0 Or get sick and write a blahg about it.\u00a0 I probably won’t read yours.\u00a0 I’ve lived mine.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
