Yes, I know, it’s been over a month since I’ve written a blahg. I was sick last month and I spent the rest of the month getting better and then preparing for my holidays this week. The biggest part of all of that was also preparing for the annual Mississauga Transformers convention. My daughter Abbie and I have been attending for a decade. That’s a picture of us on the right at this year’s convention.
The convention, more commonly know by us in the know as TFCON is described as the following:
TFcon Toronto is the world’s largest fan-run Transformers convention, held annually in the Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga, ON). The three-day event features a massive dealer room, exclusive toy releases, celebrity guests (including voice actors and artists), and the Make-A-Wish Canada charity auction.
Abbie and I first attended in 2016. We’ve gone every year with the exception of 2020 when it was cancelled due to Covid. It’s always in July and the 2021 July convention was postponed until December of that year. We attended that one. We did not attend the 2022 July convention because we had attended the December one and felt we needed a break. Jeanette and I attended the 2023 convention without Abbie because she was working in the United Kingdom that summer. We were back on schedule and attending in 2024 and 2025. Jeanette stayed in the same hotel in 2024 but didn’t attend the the TFCON but did make an appearance last year. This year Jeanette was managing the annual Quilt show in Prince Edward County on the same weekend as TFCON so Abbie and I went without Jeanette.
This year’s TFCON was a good time even though Abbie and I did not get chosen for the script reading or the game-show portion event on Saturday night. Abbie and I sat together and watched the game-show and made fun of the contestants and secret solved the puzzles together comfortably from our audience seats. We still joke about it. I managed to snag this quick video of Abbie’s script audition:

The Dealer Room is chock full of Transformers items for sale and it’s a lot of walking! I’ll show off my purchases later.

I specifically went this year to find some more Transformers Funko Pops for my collection. Here’s a photo of my Transformers Funko shelf before the convention:

In the photo above of my Transformers Funk shelf I only had open spots for two. I could move the two Underdog pops but I decided to reorganize and to add two more shelves below:
Technically I added three shelves. The original top three rows were tripled stacked so I put one at the top so the two rows are only double stacked. I also moved six other Funkos on to these shelves that had been housed elsewhere. Definitely click on the picture for a larger image. I’m still on the lookout for the Starscream Funko:
I’ve ordered one off Ebay so I’ll post an image when I’ve received it. I did find a Dealer that had one but it was not for sale. He had found it for himself earlier at the convention. Just my luck!
My final two purchases at TFCON were complimentary items already in my collection. I have a Mighty Muggs “Jazz” figure and I bought a Mighty Muggs Soundwave figure, still in box, to stand alongside of Jazz:
I already owned a Sharkticon figure from the 1986 animated Transformers movie so I purchased a still in box figure of GNAW as a companion piece.
You can see from the back of GNAW’s box that he too turns into a Sharkticon:
I did look at some other items at the Convention but at least one was too expensive. Here’s a photo I took of it:
This is a tie in to the Void Rivals comic I read. It has the Transformers figure of Jetfire as well as figures on the comic characters of Darak & Solila. This was a San Diego Comicon exclusive. Here’s a look at Jetfire and the figures from inside:
At $250, it was a little pricey for my liking.
Some of the other interesting figures I saw in the Dealer Room were crossover figures from other Franchises. I already own a few crossover figures. First, there was the Ghostbusters crossover:

Last year I purchased a Stranger Things crossover figure of Code Red:
A Dealer at the show told me about another Stranger Things crossover that just came out. I hadn’t heard about but I did find it at the show but didn’t purchase it and then when I went back, it was gone. The character is “Freakqwency”:
I’ll definitely have to pick up that one.
Two other crossover figures I saw at the show and also failed to purchase were from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Jurassic Park:
I discovered there’s another Transformers Jurassic Park crossover:
I think I’ll eventually pick up the Ninja Turtles and Jurassic Park figures as well.
Before I close, there’s one more crossover that I discovered while doing some research. It’s a Scooby Doo mystery machine transformer:
I’m not sure about that one but like the others, if I don’t pick them up this year, there’s always TFCON 2027.
